2. Evaluation Process
The Director of the journal reserves the right not to evaluate those works that fail to meet the requirements outlined in the Publication Standards. In the event thereof, the author must be notified about the rejection including the reasons and be encouraged to send a new version of the work that complies with the Publication Standards.
The Director reserves the right not to evaluate those works that fail to comply with the writing standards expected from an academic research work, provided that at least two members of the Editorial Board who had previously accessed the work endorse this decision. The author must be notified about the reasons for rejection.
The Director reserves the right to include in the issue as many works as deemed best convenient for publication.
The Director undertakes to inform about the Evaluation Process status as quickly as possible. The duration of the Process (evaluation and acceptance or rejection) shall not exceed six (6) months from the date the original work was submitted.
The Director ensures complete anonymity of each of the parties involved in the evaluation and edition of the works sent.
CF2 bears no responsibility for the works that are not published and shall have no further obligation to correspond with the authors after the selection.
2.1. Original Works
Works to be published in the Original Works section shall undergo a double-blind evaluation process: files bearing no internal reference that may lead to identify the author shall be sent, together with an evaluation sheet, to external evaluators whose institution is other than that of the author. By means of a written and substantiated evaluation, the external evaluators shall inform whether the work is Accepted, Accepted with Revisions or Non-Accepted. In the event of a negative evaluation, the Director can either reject the work, informing the author about the reasons thereof and attaching the corresponding (anonymous) evaluation sheet, or, if deemed appropriate, send the work to another external evaluator.
If the second evaluation is also negative, the Director shall necessarily reject the work, informing the author about the reasons thereof and attaching the corresponding sheets provided by both the evaluators. If the second evaluation is positive, the Director shall ask at least two members of the Editorial Board on the possibility to publish the work. In case the work is rejected, the author shall receive notification of the final decision together with the two corresponding evaluations sheets. In case the work is accepted, the author shall be informed about the positive evaluation (with or without the Revisions).
In case the work is Accepted with Revisions, the author shall be informed thereof and shall be given a period of thirty (30) days to submit the new version of the work, which shall include the modifications suggested by the evaluator(s). Failure to submit the modified work within said period will imply that the author no longer wishes to continue with the editorial process. In case the author submits the work within said period, the Director and two members of the Editorial Board shall undertake the evaluation, based on the original comments of the external evaluators.
2.2. Translations, Reviews, Summaries of Theses and Students’ Works
Works submitted to be published in the “Translations, Reviews, Summaries of Theses and Students’ Works” section shall undergo evaluation by the Director and two members of the Editorial Board. In case the work is Accepted with Revisions, the author shall be informed thereof and shall be given a period of one (1) month to submit a new version of the work which shall include the modifications suggested by the evaluators. Failure to submit the modified work within said period will imply that the author no longer wishes to continue with the editorial process. In case the author submits the work within said period, the original evaluators shall undertake the evaluation of the revised version. The author shall be immediately informed about the final acceptance or rejection of their work.
In the specific case of Summaries of Theses, the following requirements must be followed: 1) the author shall attach a scanned note stating that the (graduate or postgraduate) Thesis has been defended at and approved by the National University of Rosario; 2) the central topic of the thesis shall fall within a philosophical subdiscipline; 3) the author shall provide the Hypermedia Repository link to the final version of the thesis.
In the specific case of Translations, the following requirements must be followed: 1) the translator shall attach a scanned note by a faculty member of the BA in Philosophy at UNR stating that: i) the original article has not been previously translated into Spanish and that ii) Publishing it in Spanish would mean a great contribution to the discipline. 2) The translator is in charge of obtaining the corresponding authorisation for translation from the publishing house that owns the copyright.
3. Open Access Policy
CF2 does not pursue profit for its editorial activity. It provides open and free access to its contents, and it does not charge any fee for submission or publication. The contents of the journal and their internal regulations are available to all users.
4. Policy on Plagiarism
Works submitted to CF2 undergo a plagiarism verification process before beginning the double-blind evaluation process. In case plagiarism is confirmed, the work would be automatically rejected.
5. Policy on Author’s Rights
CF2 publishes works under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-ND 4.0). This allows commercial or non-commercial distribution, as long as the work is made available in full and without any modifications, and the original author and first publication in the journal are acknowledged.
By simply submitting a piece of work for evaluation and publication, authors transfer the journal the right to first publication under the aforementioned license. Authors can independently and additionally celebrate other contractual arrangements for non-exclusive distribution of the version published in this journal (e.g. to include their work in an institutional repository or publish it in a book) provided that they clearly state their work was first published by CF2.
