Resumen

Este artículo compara notas sobre diferentes y nuevos conceptos de “lo Humano”, desarrollados ambos hacia el interior de la investigación científica académica, tanto disciplinaria como interdisciplinaria, y en las prácticas sociales más amplias. El foco principal está en la relación cambiante entre las “dos culturas” de las humanidades y la ciencia a la luz de los desarrollos contemporáneos, como las sofisticadas formas de investigación interdisciplinaria que han emergido en los campos de la biotecnología, las ciencias neurales, investigación ambiental y del cambio climático y tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación. Estos rápidos cambios afectan las vastas definiciones de lo humano y la evolución humana. La pregunta es cómo y en qué grado tienen un impacto en la práctica de las humanidades y sobre su auto-representación. ¿El humanismo se encuentra desafiado o fortalecido por estos desarrollos? ¿A qué grado el antropocentrismo es llamado a la tarea por la que se está volviendo conocido como teoría posthumana?
